Wind companies withdraw their membership


A string of wind companies say they are withdrawing their membership of the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association, less than a year after it was formed. NEPC Micon, REPL (Bonus), and Arul Mariamman Textiles Limited (AMTL-Wind World) all dropped their membership on September 14, claiming dissatisfaction with the activities of another member, German wind turbine company Enercon. "The association is being used by Enercon as a conduit for furthering their own interest and business. We had joined as a forum that would represent the wind industry. This has not been possible because of Enercon's selfish motives," comments Raj Kumar, NEPC director.
