Spain's Capital Energy plans 384 MW in Mediterranean

Google Translate

Spanish renewables developer Capital Energy has lodged an environmental impact assessment (EIA) with Spain's environment ministry for a 384 MW offshore project in the Mediterranean Sea. The EIA involves 128, 3 MW turbines five kilometres off Valencia's Costa del Azahar. The project reportedly makes use of eight peaks on the seabed, though the company's Eduardo Sartí declines to comment. Spain's deep coastal waters mean only a handful of offshore projects are being considered, but in Catalonia the regional government is to modify the wind zoning map to include offshore sites being identified by the Instituto Catalán de Energía.
