Iberdrola subsidiary acquires 30 MW project at Dun Law

Iberdrola's UK subsidiary, ScottishPower, is to buy a 30 MW project at Dun Law in the Scottish Borders from developer Renewable Energy Systems (RES). The project, comprising 35 Vestas turbines, is an extension to ScottishPower's existing 26 turbine wind farm, which was also developed by RES. In Northern Ireland, RES has concluded the sale of its 25 MW Slieve Divena project to Airtricity. The ten Nordex 2.5 MW turbines are currently under construction near Sixmilecross in Tyrone. Airtricity's Stephen Wheeler says the acquisition of Slieve Divena signifies that Ireland remains an important market for the company.
