GE goes over to 2.5 MW production
1 July 2008
The last 1.5 MW turbine produced at GE Energy's Salzbergen factory in Germany will roll off the assembly line in September. The factory will then be solely dedicated to production of the company's 2.5 MW unit for the European market, says GE's Rainer Bröring. The GE order book amounts to 1 GW, he says, adding that GE will reach a double-digit market share in Europe in 2009.
