Nordex is completing two new French orders which will assure its leading role in the market, claims the German/Danish wind turbine manufacturer. Sixteen 2.5 MW turbines are to be installed in two projects to be completed in November or December. The sale is worth EUR 21.5 million to Nordex. Bouin wind farm is being built as a turnkey project for SIIF-Energies. Eight turbines will be installed at two sites 30 kilometres south of Nantes. The second order is for a private power station operator, Hydelec. Four 1.3 MW and four 600 kW Nordex turbines will be installed at Rivesaltes wind farm near Perpignan, Hydelec's first. The company primarily operates hydro electric plant. Nordex has around 50% of the French turbine market at present with 73 turbines (58.75 MW) installed. SIIF made Nordex a "preferred supplier" in April. In 2000 Nordex built two wind farms on Corsica for SIIF.
