In America, a new National Directory of Sustainable Energy Periodicals is being issued this month. The third edition of the book, compiled by A Campaign for A Sustainable Energy Future or "Sun Day," will list more than 800 periodicals that report on renewables, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, energy policy and environmental protection issues. Sun Day 1996 is also scheduled for April 21, a Sunday. The celebration of renewables will include local-initiated activities to demonstrate the breadth of public support for renewables, will showcase programmes and technologies, and will encourage public and private initiatives. Previous Sun Days, in which the wind industry has taken part, have been sponsored in part by the US Department of Energy, state energy offices, environmental groups, schools, businesses and others.
