Renewables arm of utility EDF orders 123 MW from Vestas

EDF Energies Renouvelables (EDF EN), the renewables arm of French utility EDF, has ordered a further 123 MW from Vestas under a framework agreement signed in 2006. According to the original arrangement, Vestas agreed to supply 100 MW in both 2008 and 2009, with an option to buy up to 200 MW for 2009. This means that Vestas will now deliver a total of 223 MW to EDF EN next year, consisting of 20, 2 MW units and 61 at 3 MW. EDF EN declines to reveal further details, beyond the fact that the machines are destined for five plant in Greece, two in France and one in Italy.
