Both Germany's government and its wind energy associations have realised that market liberalisation is overtaking them. No longer is there time for slow deliberation over policies for supporting renewables. Change is needed sooner rather than later and a blueprint for an amended wind law is now due before the end of the year. Meantime in Denmark, the country's wind turbine owners have formed a trading company which will employ professional brokers to market wind energy certificates to consumers for the best price possible, starting January 1.
