Northern Ireland's first wind farm is to be made up of ten, V-39 500 kW machines from Vestas, claims the Danish company. The turbines have been ordered by the Sean Quinn Group for one of six wind projects selected for power purchase contracts under Northern Ireland's Non Fossil Fuel Obligation legislation (Windpower Monthly, May 1994). The 5 MW project, the only one being developed by the Sean Quinn Group in Northern Ireland, is for a site at Slieve Rushen in Co Fermanagh.
