$12.5 million turbines to a Chinese trading company,Conference Digest

The Export-Import Bank of the US is loaning $11 million to Zond Corp for sales of $12.5 million turbines to a Chinese trading company. Three small utilities in Inner Mongolia, Liaoning and Guangdong will install ten turbines apiece, said Zond's Bob Gates at Windpower '96. The Ex-Im Bank, an independent government agency, approved $1.37 billion in "green" exports in 1995. Gates also confirmed Zond is talking with three utilities about Wyoming, in part about two sites near Foote Creek Rim where Kenetech Windpower was to build 70.5 MW until its May bankruptcy.
