Plans for first wind plant in Split-Dalmatia

Croatian company SEM 1986 is planning to build the first wind power park in the Split-Dalmatia district, a 12 MW project scheduled for completion by the end of 2009. The company is seeking a location licence for the EUR 12 million project which it hopes to build in the area of Kostanja, some 30 kilometres northwest of Omis. SEM would like a foreign partner with experience to help it complete the wind farm of about 14 turbines. Negotiations with Croatian power utility HEP on electricity purchases will start only after SEM receives a site construction license.
