Joint development application for new offshore development at Robin Rigg in Solway Firth

The second new application for an offshore construction is from TXU Europe and Offshore Energy Resources Ltd (OERL). They have applied for a joint development at Robin Rigg in the Solway Firth. The companies are seeking to build 60 wind turbines with a total rated capacity of some 180 MW. Their applications were submitted to the Scottish Executive, since the development would be in Scottish waters. TXU is the UK's third largest electricity retailer; OERL is a consortium of financial institution Babcock and Brown, which has financed 855 MW of wind powered generation in Europe and the US over the past 12 years, and UPC International Partnership which develops, finances, owns and operates wind energy plants worldwide.
