France's largest turbine installed in Marne

The largest turbine in France has been installed in a field at La Chaussée-sur-Marne in Marne by a farmer enthusiastic about renewable energy and the environment. Côte L'Epinette wind plant consists of a solitary REpower MD77 1.5 MW turbine supplied by Les Vents de France, the French company set up by REpower of Germany and Turbowinds of Belgium. The owner of the turbine, Hervé Huet, has previous experience as a hydro electric power producer and will be the first individual entrepreneur to take advantage of the favourable wind tariffs set last year by the French government. The electricity generated will be sold to state utility EDF.
