Vestas has won a EUR 45 million order to supply 25 of its 2 MW machines for the Tymien wind farm planned for northern Poland by EEZ, a company associated with developer Energia Eco. When completed at the end of this year, the 50 MW development will be the largest wind farm in the country. As well as turbines, Vestas will supply a remote monitoring system and be responsible for service and maintenance. "Poland has a high potential for wind energy, and with the government's target of 7.5% renewable energy by 2010, the expectations for the Polish market are very positive," comments Svend Sigaard of Vestas.
