New Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is developing a 500 kW turbine, says Marty Vander Broek of the company's US subsidiary. The three-bladed machine is on a 140 foot tower instead of the 100 foot tower of the MWT 250. Most recently, Mitsubishi turbines have been installed in Wales (103 units), on Japan's Miyako Island by Okinawa Electric Power Co Inc (one unit) and at Horikappu in Japan by Hokkaido Electric Power Co Inc (two units). A total of 816 Mitsubishi turbines have been installed worldwide since 1980, in California, Hawaii, Wales, Japan and Mexico.
