NREL CUTS 10% OF STAFF
1 January 1996
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory is cutting about 10% of its full-time workforce. NREL, based in Colorado, must shed 90-100 people because of anticipated federal budget cuts, says the lab. Pre-Christmas incentives for voluntary departure were being offered in December and the remainder of the cuts were to begin in January. It is not clear what impact if any there would be on NREL's windprogramme.
