New 1.65 MW experiment up

The Danish-Spanish company Wind Iberica has installed its experimental Vestas 1.65 MW turbine in Tarifa. It has a market price of ESP 285 million (i1.7 million), and will supply the grid from October. Wind Iberica's total investment in the project is about ESP 422 million (i2.5 million). The EU's Thermie program is subsidising 30% of wind measuring costs and the turbine purchase price. Wind Iberica is half owned by Danish developer Jysk Vindkraft, which is controlled by the World Wide Wind group. The other 50% is made up by private investors. The V66 is the company's first installation, although it has 34 projects (700 MW) pending in Andalusia.
