CAPACITY FACTOR OF 24%

Minnesota's 25 MW Kenetech wind plant had a capacity factor of 24% from May 1994 to February 1995, says Glynis Hinschberger of Northern States Power (NSP). She says the wind farm, which has undergone repairs, has performed as expected. The capacity factor increased during the windier summer months, with output varying from 0-28 MW. The Buffalo Ridge project provided 16 MW at the time of NSP's summer peak in 1994.
