Jaeren Energi AS has received a concession from Norwegian energy agency NVE for an 80 MW wind plant in Rogaland. The concession was granted on the basis of the area's good wind resource, the project's limited ecological impact, its proximity to the grid and the closeness of a relatively large population centre. The quoted production cost was also relatively low, which worked in Jaeren Energi's favour, says NVE«s Agnar Aas. The favourable outcome of the Rogaland application is spurring further wind development plans for the area.
