Denmark's largest wind turbine manufacturer, Vestas, has taken over an 8000 square metre factory in its home town of Lem. Parts of Vestas' administration and its steal and glass fibre departments have been moved to the new premises which have been renovated for DKK 24 million. Vestas' 700 employees in Denmark are now housed at four different locations in Lem. Vestas has also bought one of its nearby suppliers, steel products company Vølund Stålskorstene, including the company's 150 employees. In this way Vestas has secured a much needed qualified workforce, says the company's Johannes Poulsen. Vestas was among Denmark's 250 largest companies last year.
