EarthFirst Canada Inc has signed a turbine supply agreement for 15 Enercon 2 MW turbines for its Grand Valley project in southern Ontario. The company has three 20-year standard offer contracts for 10 MW each and expects to finalise the necessary environmental permits and interconnection agreements by the middle of this year. The turbines are slated for delivery in 2009. The estimated capital cost of the full 30 MW is approximately C$73 million. With the global turbine market in tight supply, says CEO Robert Toole, securing machines is "a critical milestone in our effort to bring Grand Valley online in 2009."
