Suzlon enters Turkey with turbines going up at Didim

Indian wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon will see its first machines power up in Turkey this month at Didim, on the Aegean coast to the south of Izmir. Consisting of 15, 2.1 MW turbines, the plant was developed and is owned by local utility Ayen Enerji and marks the company's debut in the wind power market. Ayen holds two further wind farm construction licences for a combined 54.75 MW for projects also near Izmir. It also has applications pending for 161.7 MW in Balikesir and Mugla provinces.
