Two new booklets laying out the financial and regulatory incentives for renewable energy in every state are now on the market. The 140 page "National Summary Report on State Financial Incentives for Renewable Energy" and the "National Summary report on State Regulatory Incentives for Renewable Energy" are published by the North Carolina Solar Centre, part of the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University, and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, a non-profit consortium of state and local government agencies based in New York. In the former report, 119 financial incentive programmes are listed, including those for grants and loans, corporate tax incentives, industrial recruitment programmes, and tax exemptions. The regulatory information in the latter book, just out in December, covers 120 incentives in 45 states, from green pricing, renewable portfolio standards and system benefit charges to state and utility research and outreach programmes and integrated resource planning mandates.
