Suzlon plans 100 MW wind project for Kerala

Suzlon Energy is planning a $125 million, 100 MW wind project in Kerala and has earmarked sites in the Idukki and Palakad district. The output will be sold to local industries and the State Electricity Board, which has agreed a power purchase agreement with the company. Kerala's authorities have conducted resource assessments at 21 locations in the state, with the assistance from the Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources -- 16 of them have been deemed feasible for wind development. The wind potential of the state is estimated at around 605 MW.
