Positive bird study at offshore site

The Danish environmental ministry published a three year study last month that found birds are neither scared away or disturbed by the ten 500 kW Vestas turbines which make up the offshore wind farm at Tunø Knob. During the study period, changes in the availability of food sources -- not linked to the wind turbines -- had more effect on bird populations. The study confirms two earlier Danish investigations of the effect of wind turbines on bird life.
