Latest wind power capacity figures released

Installed wind power capacity in India reached 1702 MW at the end of September, according to latest figures released by the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources. In the first half of the current fiscal year to March 2003, another 74 MW was added. Of this the states of Tamil Nadu added 37.5 MW, Karnataka, 27.6 MW, and Rajasthan, 9 MW. Germany's Enercon and Denmark's NEG Micon were responsible for 27.13 MW and 23.65 MW respectively of the new capacity for the period.
