Wind plant developer Tramontana -- which owns the largest commercial wind plant in France at Port-la-Nouvelle on the Mediterranean coast -- is changing its name to La Compagnie du Vent (LCV). The ownership of the company remains the same, though, with equal shares held by Jean-Michel Germa and IDEX, an energy and waste conglomerate. LCV is negotiating with Electricité de France for joint development of a 9 MW wind plant in Brittany. Site plans are already advanced but "the permitting procedure is not yet fully stabilised with state institutions," says Germa. The small Port-la-Nouvelle wind farm is of Vestas turbines.
