Two German-owned developers recently completed their first wind power plant in France. In January Eolec, a subsidiary of developer EcoJoule and Deutsche Bank, inaugurated an 11.5 MW installation at Momerstroff in the Moselle département of northeast France. Nordex supplied the five 2.3 MW turbines. Eolec plans to submit applications for two further projects of 20 MW and 12 MW this spring and has over 300 MW in development. Also in January, Energieteam commissioned a 12 MW plant at Assigny on the English Channel coast in the Seine-Maritime département. Bricorama, a leading chain of building supply stores, is a co-investor. The six Enercon turbines -- the first to start turning in the Haute-Normandie region -- have attracted a lot of public interest. Over 2000 visitors attended a series of open days held throughout January. Energieteam expects to bring another 40 MW online before the end of the year.
