Denmark's Vestas is to supply 159 MW for the $400 million Lake Bonney Stage 2 wind power project near Mount Gambier in South Australia, which is being developed by Lake Bonney Windpower Pty, a subsidiary of Babcock & Brown Wind Partners. The project will use 53 V90 3 MW turbines, adding to the 46 V66 1.75 MW machines Vestas supplied for the first stage, to give Lake Bonney a combined capacity of 239.5 MW. The latest order comprises supply, commissioning, and service and maintenance under a five year contract. The first turbines are due to be delivered in the third quarter of 2006, with commissioning of the final machines planned for the 2008.
