The US Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im Bank) is stepping up investment in renewable energy projects after setting up an advisory committee of outside experts to help boost related exports. In fiscal year 2002 through end of August, Ex-Im Bank supported over $300 million of US exports of environmentally beneficial goods and services related to renewable energy, as well as and air, water and land remediation. One wind power beneficiary is Southwest Windpower of Flagstaff, Arizona, which has used Ex-Im's environmental insurance policies to sell its battery charging wind generators in many developing markets.
