18 offshore proposals for British waters but only Scroby Sands given consent

Out of 18 offshore projects proposed for British waters granted temporary leases by the landowner Crown Estate in 2001, one project, at Scroby Sands off Norfolk, has already received permission to build. In addition to the Barrow and Solway projects, two other developers have already applied for consents for projects off the north Wales coast -- National Wind Power for its North Hoyle wind farm, and Celtic Offshore Wind Ltd for a wind farm off Rhyl.
