Japanese Marubeni steps up wind capacity overseas

Japanese trading house Marubeni hopes to at least triple its overseas wind capacity, currently standing at around 42 MW in two wind plants in South Korea, says the company's renewables team leader, Takashi Fujinaga. Markets of particular interest are the US, China and India, says Fujinaga. At home in Japan, where it has five wind plants totalling 47 MW in operation, the company is struggling to adapt to what it says is a difficult environment for wind power.
