Zeeuwind, a wind plant development co-operative, recently opened its sixth and so far largest wind plant near the village of Stavenisse. The three 225 kW Vestas turbines can meet the entire demand of the village of 500 households in windy weather. Zeeuwind has 2000 turbine-owning members producing five million kilowatt hours a year, enough for 2000 households. Next year Zeeuwind hopes to open another wind farm, this time with four 225 kW units.
