Vestas secures order for 200 MW

Vestas says it has secured orders from China for turbines with a combined capacity of 200 MW. One order for 100 MW, from Guangdong Nuclear Wind Power, is for delivery of 116, 850 kW machines. Vestas says it has now sold 500 MW of the 850 kW model to Guangdong Nuclear Wind Power. The latest agreement includes a monitoring and control system and a two year maintenance and service agreement. Delivery of the turbines is planned for the autumn. The Danish manufacturer received two further orders in China totalling 100 MW from an undisclosed buyer, to be delivered to two projects in China, also in the autumn. This year, the company plans to open a factory complex in Inner Mongolia and a foundry in Jiangsu. When these are complete, Vestas will operate five factories in China. According to Denmark's BTM Consult, Vestas' market share of wind turbine suppliers in China is the second highest among foreign companies, after Spain's Gamesa, and fourth largest if domestic companies are included.
