Anyone looking for evidence of the changing face of the Canadian wind industry need look no further than a pre-conference technical course designed to introduce the basic concepts of wind energy, from a technological, economic and political perspective, to newcomers. The course attracted 120 participants, most of whom stayed on to attend the conference and roam the exhibition halls, where 20 companies displayed their services. For exhibitors like Turbowinds Canada's George Klass, the number of new faces was good to see. "The old stalwarts are still here, and having been here three years I know many of the faces, so I'm encouraged by the perseverance. But I'm also extremely encouraged by the new interest.
