DeWind installs prototype of 2 MW in Germany

DeWind installed the prototype of its D8 2 MW machine at Siestedt near Magdeburg in the east German state of Saxony-Anhalt at the end of March. A second 2 MW turbine is to be installed at the same site in July, the company says. DeWind, with 192 employees and turnover in 2001 of company magazine 80 million, is 37.5% owned by utility MVV Energie of Mannheim. The company has supplied 250 MW of wind since it founding in 1996.
