Novar's first stage on line
1 August 1997
The first half of National Wind Power's 17 MW Novar wind farm is operational. Eighteen 500 kW Bonus turbines on Bendeallt, near Evanton in the Scottish Highlands, were commissioned in late July. The remainder of the site, on nearby Meall an Tuirc, is expected to be completed next month for an official opening in October. The wind farm has two 15 year power purchase contracts awarded under the first Scottish Renewables Obligation.
