Stakes in renewables for German stockholder

BVT Energie und Umwelttechnik stockholding company is planning to take stakes worth EUR 6.8 million in five new renewable energy projects this year. These include an additional 2.6% (EUR 800,000) in the Spanish La Muela wind project of 132 NEG Micon 750 kW turbines in Aragón (page 60), and 20% of a project proposed in Italy, either at Monte Cavallo or at Belchite, worth EUR 1 million. Thysssen Rheinstahl Technik is behind the Monte Cavallo development, while Global Renewable Energy Partners, an international wind developer founded by NEG Micon last year, is looking at Belchite. BVT currently holds stakes in three power stations: a mini hydro plant, a mini cogeneration facility, and La Muela. It also owns 45% of the Dutch wind turbine development company Zephyros, in which Lagerwey and ABB have joined forces. BVT plans to go public in the medium term, perhaps in 2005.
