German landowners will be invited to invest in the project and an information meeting for Danish landowners was to be held on May 19. Knauer says the Micon 600 kW is being considered in Germany, but the field is open as to which German turbines will be used in Denmark.
German wind turbines are to be installed in Denmark if plans for a cross border wind farm of up to 80 wind turbines go ahead. The project has been initiated by the German agent for Micon wind turbines of Denmark, Andreas Knauer in Niebüll. In the appropriate spirit for an international project, German turbines will be installed on the Danish side of the border and Danish turbines on German side. "The area earmarked for the power station in Denmark and Germany is relatively empty so the project is unlikely to come up against any serious objections," notes Knauer. Local authorities on both sides of the border, Tinglev in Denmark and Jardelund in Germany, have approved the plans, "but we prefer not to make major announcements until matters have been cleared with the landowners," says Knauer.
