AGL scraps 79 MW in Victoria

Australian Gas Light Company (AGL) has scrapped plans for the 79.2 MW Dollar wind farm in South Gippsland, Victoria. It had already asked the state government to put its planning application for the project on hold after it won approval for its 330 MW MacArthur wind farm near Port Fairy in western Victoria late last year (Windpower Monthly, December 2006). It now says "the economics of the project are less compelling as compared with other projects under investment consideration by AGL."
