New projects almost double country's wind total

Two new projects in Switzerland will nearly double the country's wind power total, adding 2.55 MW to its existing 2.8 MW. After more than 18 months without any new turbines, two Vestas 850 kW machines were erected in the Jura mountains near Bern last month for Swiss developer Juvent, a subsidiary of utility BKW Energie. A second project is scheduled for this month. An ABB/Lagerwey 850 kW machine will be installed at Gütsch ob Andermatt.
