Together with an Indian partner, German wind company GET of Rendsburg has won a contract to supply 150, 225 kW turbines for several wind stations in southern India. They should be operating by next spring. During the production phase, some of the "less critical components" will be supplied from India, says GET. The company's activity on the Indian market was initiated during the Power and Energy trade fair in New Delhi in December when GET participated as part of a delegation from Schleswig-Holstein. GET Danwin turbines are produced by a subsidiary of the Preussag Group, HDW-Nobiskrug, in Rendsburg. The turbine is an improved version of the former Danwin model, made in Denmark. GET acquired the Danwin licence after the Danish company went bankrupt at the beginning of 1992 after selling 340 turbines worldwide.
