GE Energy debuts on the Italian market

Project developer Brulli Energia will use GE Energy wind turbine technology on its first wind farm, a 30 MW project in Girifalco, Calabria, expected to be completed by June 2009. Known as Wind Farm Serre, the project will use 12 of GE's 2.5xl wind turbines, which are making their debut on the Italian market with this project. Brulli Energia says the municipality of Girifalco will receive 50% of earnings before interest and taxes from the wind farm. Brulli Energia, a family-owned company based in the central Italian region of Emilia Romagna, is also developing other wind projects in Calabria and the Apulia region.
