Global wind fund manager BBW's 90 MW deal in Germany

Global wind fund manager Babcock & Brown Wind Partners (BBW) has extended its framework agreement with Spain's Gamesa Energia SA to include ten operational wind plant with a total installed capacity of 90 MW in Germany by 2009. Under the initial framework agreement signed in 2005, BBW agreed to buy up to 450 MW being developed in Spain by Gamesa by the same date. Of this, nearly 50 MW has been delivered: 17 MW at Conjuro and 32.2 MW at Valdeconejos. BBW already has 65.8 MW turning in Germany and has the option to acquire a further 288 MW by 2009 under another framework agreement signed with Plambeck Neue Energien AG in 2006. "The framework agreement with Gamesa is a key component of BBW's clearly identified pipeline of over 3000 MW of expected wind farm acquisitions," says BBW's CEO Miles George.
