Energy and Environment Minister Svend Auken will soon be ready with a long awaited plan for rekindling the Danish wind market. A relaxing of existing rules on private ownership plus a new obligation on utilities to install wind power plant seem to be the key elements. If introduced the plan allows private households to generate more electricity for their own use before sales to the grid are taxed. People in towns and cities, until now disallowed from owning wind turbines because they did not live near them, will also be allowed to invest in clean power.
