Siemens wind turbine division buys up German sales agent

Negotiations for the planned acquisition of Germany's AN Windenergie by Siemens Power Generation are "likely to be completed by the end of the year," says AN Windenergie's Norbert Giese. AN Windenergie is the long-time agent in Germany for Bonus wind turbines, now made by Siemens following its takeover of Bonus. "After the takeover our aim is to expand the market position of Siemens in Germany," says Giese. In 2004, just 4% of wind turbines sold in Germany were supplied by Bonus/Siemens. AN Windenergie turnover was close to EUR 100 million last year. The planned acquisition was registered at the federal cartel office on October 10.
