Dewind exhibits new turbine

Dewind of Germany, will present its new 2 MW D8 wind turbine at the Windtech Husum trade fair this month. Ascetic design work on the turbine has been done by F Porsche of Weissach, the company responsible for Porsche sports car design. Dewind is also celebrating installation of its two-hundredth 600 kW D4 turbine at the 19.2 MW Buetow-Zepkow wind station in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, completed last month. The first D4 unit was installed in 1996 in Neustadt, Schleswig Holstein, the company says. The D4 is the smallest in a family of three Dewind turbines. The D6 has a capacity of 1-1.25 MW, 18 of which were installed during the first half of this year. The prototype of the D8 unit, will be installed later this year. In total, Dewind expects to install 120 MW this year to reach a turnover of about DEM 210 million.
