Germany's Repower Systems has unveiled its new 3.3 MW wind turbine, a further development of its 1.5 MW and 2 MW turbines, says the company. The first prototype will go up before the end of the year and the second in early 2009, with another three going up at Galmsbüll near the Danish border in 2009. All the sites are in Germany. The 3.3 MW turbine will be upgraded to a larger output at a later date, says Repower, which no longer produces its 1.5 MW model. The firm expects its first 6 MW machine -- developed from its 5 MW offshore turbine -- to be installed near the German/Danish border at the end of this year.
