Applications for siting 400 wind turbines are currently waiting for planning permission from local and regional authorities in Sweden. Interest in wind power is growing fast, but is being stifled in red tape. Only 20 turbines have received permission so far. Now they are in the queue for government subsidies, administered by the state energy authority Nutek.
