Generator company moves into wind

After 52 years in the generator business, Australian company MacFarlane Generators has launched a wind energy development division. The company currently supplies more than 50 MW of generating equipment to clients in Australia and Asia Pacific. While already in the preliminary stages of developing large scale wind projects, the division will be involved in all aspects of plant development including prospecting, wind analysis, and the supply of smaller wind-diesel hybrid systems. The company is also in the business of selling and installing second-hand turbines bought from decommissioned wind plant in other countries.
